Old Colorado City

Colorado City was founded in 1859 and in 1861 it was designated the first capital of the Colorado Territory. The city quickly became a "high society" entertainment center where prosperous businessmen and their families enjoyed parties, balls and receptions.

There are many annual events located in the historic district including the annual St. Patrick's day parade; territory days, concerts throughout the summer, scarecrow days; and a rocky mountain Christmas.
